Management and Development for Health (MDH) is a local NGO focusing primarily on public health service and research in the United Republic of Tanzania. MDH is the sub-grant recipient for the Leading Safe Choices programme, led by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) of United Kingdom and works in close collaboration with Tanzania Ministry of Health in selected health facilities for a 3-year•pilot in Tanzania. The RCOG Leading Safe Choi es initiative aims to strengthen the competence and raise the standing of family planning professionals by promoting best practice, training and support systems to build skills and professionalize family planning and comprehensive post abortion care services. MDH is seeking to employ for the following vacant positions: Job title: Data Clerk - Leading Safe Choices (2 positions) Location: Dar es Salaam Reports to: M&E Officer - Leading Safe Choices Job purpose: The Data clerk will be assigned to specific workstation at health facilities supported in this programme. The data
clerk will be primarily responsible to accurately enter all, clinical and other data required for the project into electronic software, as well as perform and report daily basic Data Quality Checks and periodic Data quality Assessment with guidance from the M&E Officer and the Health Care Provider In-charge of the respective work-station. The Data clerk will also generate and share periodic project data reports as required by the M&E Officer and Programme team. The Data Clerk will report to the M&E Officer - Leading Safe Choices in MDH. ' Duties and Responsibilities • Enter quickly and accurately clinical, laboratory and socio-demographic data from hospital records and other forms, into electronic database . , • Undertake daily data quality checks and communicate both verbally and in writing with the M&E Officer and relevant health care provider in assigned hospital regarding all forms with data queries and database problems • Work with and assist health care providers in assigned hospital/section in basic data r-elated tasks including put not limited to sorting and filing forms, registers and other records • Assist the M&E officer to conduct periodic data quality assessment and address any data queries identified • Check and reconcile data inconsistencies across different databases and work with the M&E officer and relevant health care provider in assigned hospital to address and resolve identified errors in database, forms, registers and other records. ' • Locate and review archived or filed forms, registers and other records ,if necessary • Communicate both verbally and in writing suggestions for improvements to data entry or data flow to M&E officer and appropriate health care provider in assigned hospital • Complete other data tasks as assigned by the M&E officer and the appropriate health care provider in assigned hospital Required qualifications and experience: . • Certificate/ Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Computer Applications, • At least 1 year experience in data entry related tasks, preferably in health related projects/ programme • Able to maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient records and other project related information entrusted to him/her • Good basic computer literacy in Word, Excel, Access and other data management software • Good written and verbal English and Swahili language skills ' • Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels • Able to manage time and observe deadlines, and attentive to detail APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Interested candidates should submit an application letter indicating the position applied for, region of preference, a detailed copy of their CV and 'contact information (email addresses and telephone numbers) of three work related referees by 04th March 2016, to the Human Resource Manager through APPLY NOW below or dropped by hand at the MDH Head office in Mikocheni, along Mwai Kibaki Road, Plot No. 802.
